A commissioned painting transforms a personal subject into an original work of art. Jim accepts a limited number of commissions each year, including portraits, figures, animals and landscapes. 

HOW IT WORKS

1. Conversation
We begin by discussing your idea, what makes it special to you, the desired size, reference material and where the finished painting will live.

2. References & Composition
We select or develop the photographic references and composition that will best translate your subject into a painting.

3. Painting
Jim creates the work in pastel, sending progress photos as the painting develops.

4. Completion
Once completed, we arrange delivery or pickup and discuss appropriate framing if needed.
